Public Health

GW is one of only a handful of schools that offers the full array of public health opportunities for our students; you can major or minor in Public Health, or take advantage of our five-year BS/MPH dual-degree program. Of course, all students may take Public Health classes even if you are not enrolled in one of our programs. Students must apply to our programs.

Related Majors, Minors, and Concentrations

Students interested in public health issues may choose to explore the B.S./M.P.H. dual degree or our other undergraduate degrees in athletic training and exercise science. We also offer a minor in public health.

What can I expect to learn in the Public Health program at GW?

Public health covers all health issues:  environmental, global, communications and marketing, management, epidemiology, health care delivery and administration, policy development and analysis, and much more.

What is the Public Health community like at GW?

We’re a close group of students and faculty with a shared goal: to make a difference in our community and the world. Our community is small enough that we’ll know your name and large enough to attract public health leaders to teach and inspire.

What can I do in the Public Health field?

You name it. Our graduates have careers in government and the private and nonprofit sectors. Others have pursued advanced degrees in public health, business, law and medicine.
